NASA - NASA Scientists Predict Black Hole Light Echo Show
"according to Fukumura and Kazanas, things get more interesting when they take into account Einstein’s general theory of relativity, which describes how extremely massive objects like black holes can actually warp and drag the surrounding space-time."

The Chandra X-ray Observatory Center :
"Rapidly Whirling Black Holes
Results from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory provide one of the best pieces of evidence yet that many supermassive black holes are spinning extremely rapidly.
The new study uses these Chandra results combined with leading theoretical models for the production of jets, plus general relativity, to show that the supermassive black holes in these galaxies must be spinning at close to the maximum rate. If black holes are spinning at this limit, material can be dragged around them at close to the speed of light, the speed limit from Einstein's theory of relativity."

Black Holes Spin Near Speed of Light --SPACE.com
"The observed jet power and accretion rates were huge ― one black hole ate 10 Earth masses per month and, from its surroundings, spat out 50 times the annual energy of our sun per second. That allowed Nemmen and his colleagues to estimate that the spin of the black holes approaches Einstein's speed-of-light limit."

Atlantis flying to 2010, Hubble slightly delayed - manifest re-aligned - NASA SpaceFlight.com
"The official decision on the future of Atlantis has finally been made, as she avoids early retirement in 2008 - gaining STS-128 and STS-131 in the process via new planning documentation.

Atlantis' flagship mission - STS-125's trip to service the Hubble Space Telescope - has been delayed by one month, to September 5, as the bulk of the manifest moves to the right by around 30 days, due to the slip of STS-122 to February 7.

James Webb Space Telescope:
The JWST has a 6.5m mirror, which is comprised of 18 beryllium segments recently completed by Axsys Technologies in its climate-controlled factory in Cullman, Alabama, USA.
After a thorough selection process, Axsys chose Mitsui Seiki USA (Franklin Lakes, New Jersey) to supply the technology to machine the segments.
Northrop Grumman Corporation is the prime contractor for the JWST.
Mitsui Seiki custom-built the HMCs to machine the JWST mirror segments.
Billet machining - a 540 lb beryllium billet is fixtured vertically onto an angle plate on one of the eight Mitsui machines.
The six-sided billet is 4in thick, 54in across, and 62in from point to point.
The reverse side of each mirror segment has 600 pockets - about 2.5in square each.
There are also 22 mounting pads and 249 light-weighting holes.
